Dale Owen elected new President as CGCI Announces New Board Members, Officers & Committee Heads.
Following the July 22, 2014 Annual Shareholders Meeting, the new board of directors met to welcome new members, elect officers and assign committee chairs for 2014-2015. Leaving the board after six years of dedicated service was our 2012-2014 president, Jim Gibbons.
Also retiring from his marketing duties on the board was Ken Waldron. We thank both these gentlemen for their tireless efforts. A special tip-of-the-hat to super volunteers — Don Mason (chair of the Water Company Committee) and Jim Oberg (“Together We Can Do It”).
Newly elected board members are:
Randy McCauley: Chair of the Marketing and Green Committees.
A member of the Charbonneau community for seven years, Randy is currently employed by Rainier Industries in the Wilsonville office. Among their many products are tents and awnings, and he provided the new tent over our patio area.
Randy has worked with several golf courses around the country that were in a revenue expansion position and searching for ways to extend their facilities to other events. He currently finished a project designing and building a banquet facility for the John F Kennedy Golf Course in Napa, California. Another completed project was for Stanford University, redesigning the indoor tennis stadium. Stanford now has him working on a second project involving design and building a fabric structure for the top of the football stadium.
Randy currently sits on the board of directors for the American Rental Association in Oregon, and keeps members informed on matters like code compliances and advancements in structural fabric.
Elaine Swyt: Chair of the Communications Committee and co-chair of the Human Resources Committee.
Elaine has over 40 years experience in private and public sector business. She grew up in Salem, attended the University of San Francisco receiving her Masters in Organizational Development. For the past 20 years, Elaine and husband, Joe, formerly a chief executive in high tech, also built Mediaphysics, a business consulting, web development and design firm. Joe has retired since their 2006 move to Charbonneau from San Jose while Elaine continues on with the business.
Elaine serves on the Wilsonville Parks & Recreation Advisory Board, is communication chair for the Blanchet H.S. Alumni Advisory Board in Salem, and is a member of Boys and Girls Cypress Auxiliary. While a spinal injury some years ago prevents her from playing golf now, she grew up playing at her neighborhood nine-hole course in Salem, enjoying golf into her adult years.
Since 2011, Elaine has worked on a voluntary basis to create a next generation website for Jim Oberg and the “Together We Can Do It” team to help rally the needed community support in that effort. She has recently helped the CGCI planning team fulfill its strategic and tactical plan to upgrade the CGCI web presence.
Bob Wiese: Vice President and chair of the Business Development Committee.
Bob is starting a second term on the Board and has served as Vice President for the past two years; as well as serving on the Finance, Green, and Merger Negotiation committees. Bob and Maryanna moved to Charbonneau 11 years ago from Walnut Creek, California. He retired 3 years ago from serving as Director of Mortgage Solutions with a national mortgage banking company.
Prior to that Bob spent 30 years in a variety of executive positions with 2 large financial institutions. While in Walnut Creek, Bob was manager with Little League baseball for 10 years, coach with Pop Warner football for 3 years and served on both organizations Board of Directors; helped form the local HS Booster Club and served as its first president. He also was on the board of his Homeowners Association, serving one term as President.
Bill Shevlin joined the board mid-term last year.
He will chair the Planning and Golf Committees.
